INTENSIVE INFORMATION

Thank you for your Intensive request.  We look forward to getting you on our Intensive calendar. To do this, we need some information from you!

Brief Description

RC Intensives (in person and on Zoom) are available with the counseling staff at Re-evaluation Counseling Community Resources (RCCR) in Shoreline, Washington, USA.

They are designed for individuals who lead in their local RC Community or who are on their way to leadership.

In addition, we require that the individual have approval from their Regional Reference Person to have the Intensive. 

Purpose of Intensive 

Intensives provide an opportunity for you as an RC Community leader to use, teach, and gain insight into RC. You do this by working intensively for a week as a client in sessions with a team of very experienced counselors. 

An Intensive is a time for you to put your attention on discharging and freeing yourself from the distresses left by the early hurts that happened to you.

Throughout the week, each session builds upon the previous session. Intensives use important RC resources in a collective effort for your re-emergence. They are not just a series of sessions.

We schedule Intensives Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (16:00) Pacific Time. You will receive your schedule three weeks in advance. Please keep these times available until then.

A Valuable Resource

Intensives are a valuable resource, both for working on one’s distresses and in understanding RC Theory and practice much more deeply.

If your Intensive is on Zoom, it is important that you do not simply fit your Intensive into your usual schedule; instead, build that week’s schedule around it.

In-person Intensives require you to be with us in Shoreline and to almost immediately make your plans to fulfill this promise. With Zoom Intensives, this needs to be thought about and planned well ahead of the Intensive week.

RRP Approval

Your Regional Reference Person (RRP) knows the criteria for having an Intensive.  Please discuss your intentions of having an Intensive with your RRP and ask them to email our office with their approval (rcoffice@rc.org).

Length of Intensive

We offer Zoom Intensives of 12 or 16 hours.

In-person Intensives are 20 hours.

During your Intensive, several counselors will work together as a team.  After each session, your counselor exchanges essential information from your session with your next counselor. This “client exchange” time is built into the cost of your Intensive.

The sessions are one hour (50 minutes of counseling) and one and a half hours (75 minutes). 

Your 20-minute interview at the start of your Intensive is included in your Intensive hours, as is the 10-minute discussion your Intensive Team will have after your interview.

Make up of an intensive counseling team

Currently, about half of our counselors live outside of Shoreline, many live outside the US. Adding these counselors to our staff has allowed us to keep up with the demand for Intensives as current staff retire or cut their hours (and offer much more diversity in Intensive counselors). We are adding a few in-person counselors here at Shoreline as well.

Currently about 40% of an in-person Intensive is done online with the counselors not being at RCCR, but with counselors from their homes in various parts of the US and/or in other countries.

Cost of intensive

The cost in U.S. Dollars is:

$1200 (12 hours)

$1600 (16 hours)

$2000 (20 hours).

This covers the counseling time, the counselor exchanges, an initial interview, and a mid-week counselor meeting during which your team strategizes about your Intensive.

Payment at the time of intensive confirmation

Because of the complexities of scheduling Intensives with their overlapping teams of counselors, we need to be certain of your Intensive before we begin the scheduling it involves.

Because of this, we require that your Intensive be paid for before we begin the scheduling process, and within thirty days of your confirming your Intensive.

New Cancellation Policy

We know that there are circumstances that sometimes interfere with a person’s scheduled plans. We book Intensives long in advance and are juggling many people’s schedules.

It is a hardship for our staff and our finances when people cancel at short notice. RCCR is not able to sustain the financial burden as we offer Intensives to the RC community.

For this reason, we will assess a 12.5% penalty for cancellations within 6 weeks before an Intensive and a 25% penalty if the cancellation is within 3 weeks.

For example, if you have a 20-hour Intensive scheduled for the week of June 20th and you cancel or postpone it on June 14th you will pay a $500 USD cancellation fee. This is at the current rate of $2,000 USD.

Commitment to the intensive

Requests for changes in the dates for your Intensive also take considerable staff time. For this reason, we cannot make changes to your Intensive dates within six weeks before your Intensive.

If you cannot make it to a scheduled session during the Intensive, the session will be forfeited without refund or credit if we cannot quickly reschedule a replacement session.
